About BEH

My second book of poetry, N = R* fp x ne x fl x fi x fc x L (The Drake Equation), published by Vraeyda Media. My first book, Nebular Hypothesis, was published by Cawing Crow Press. Both presses have gone out of business, so reach out to me if you'd like to order a copy of either book. My poetry appears in numerous anthologies and journals, most recently in Ionosphere, Infocalypse, Collidescope, the CWC Redwood Branch Anthology: One Day, CWC Redwood Branch Anthology: Phases, The California Literary Review, CWC SF Peninsula Branch Anthology Fault Zone: Reverse, Consilience, and the California Writers Club 2024 Best of the Best Literary Review.
My photography has been published in New Feathers Anthology, 14 Hills, Otoliths and Vision and Verse: A Fusion of Art and Poetry from CWC. I have also published four chapbooks, and I was the managing editor for Dark Matter Journal.
I have been a teacher, a children’s museum curator, a college professor, and a vagabond. I currently teach English at Episcopal Day Middle School in San Mateo California and an MFA candidate at San Francisco State University.

Books

The Drake Equation The poetry in this volume is driven by the details of reality, the unfolding of explanation for natural phenomena and by a search for meaning, not mystical, but satisfying to the human mind. Whether emergent property or not, it is human consciousness that imposes meaning onto the quantum fabric of reality.

The Nebular Hypothesis
Nebular Hypothesis” refers to the formation and evolution of family from a singular beginning to an ever expanding solar system. The poems are arranged such that the nova of my family, the adoption of my children, is in the middle and the poems orbit chronologically. My children form the planets of my solar system.
